Elder: David B. Loughran

He was admired and loved by all!
He was kind/caring/wise/forthright.
He touched the hearts of everyone he met.

He had many interests! Was never happier then when walking in the country... meditating... and in prayer... to our Heavenly Father!

In a world where most people put their own rights in the forefront; he thought only of his responsibilities and duty to others.

He was a tireless worker, lenient with others, ruthless with himself. High moral standards. Always grateful for what you did for him.

We remember his words of wisdom. We quote some. His words were, “Make sure you have oil in your vessel as well as your lamp!”

Good advise for all of us, wouldn't you agree? We most certainly do!

The Good News!

God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
(Revelation 21: 1-4)

Our beloved Elder: David B. Loughran will rest in complete peace until the resurrection of the dead at our Savior’s return to earth!

  • When this corruptible shall put on incorruption.
  • And this mortal shall put on immortality.
  • Then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written,
  • Death is swallowed up in victory.
  • O death, where is thy sting?
  • O grave, where is thy victory?

Asleep In Jesus

Asleep in Jesus! Blessèd sleep,
From which none ever wakes to weep;
A calm and undisturbed repose,
Unbroken by the last of foes.

Asleep in Jesus! Oh, how sweet,
To be for such a slumber meet,
With holy confidence to sing
That death has lost his venomed sting!

Asleep in Jesus! Peaceful rest,
Whose waking is supremely blessed;
No fear, no woe, shall dim that hour
That manifests the Savior's power.

Asleep in Jesus! Oh, for me
May such a blessèd refuge be!
Securely shall my ashes lie
And wait the summons from on high.

Asleep in Jesus! Far from thee
Thy kindred and their graves may be;
But there is still a blessèd sleep,
From which none ever wakes to weep.

Until We Meet Again, In The Resurrection!

Readings

(John 14: 1-3)
(1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18)
  • John 14: 1: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
    2: In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
    3: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

  • I Thessalonians 4: 13: But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
    14: For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
    15: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
    16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
    17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
    18: Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
