Ye have not chosen me, but I have
chosen you, and ordained you,
Had Thou Not Chosen Me
My Lord, I did not choose Thee,
For that could never be;
My heart would still refuse Thee,
Had Thou not chosen me.
Thou took the sin that stained me,
Thou cleansed me, made me new;
Of old Thou hast ordained me,
That I should live in Thee.
Unless Thy grace had called me
And taught my opening mind,
The world would have enthralled me,
To heavenly glories blind.
My heart knows none above Thee;
For Thy richest grace I thirst;
I know that if I love Thee,
Thou must have loved me first.
