For he spake in a certain place of the
seventh day on this wise, And God did
rest the seventh day from all his works.
This Holy Seventh Day
The earth is hushed in silence,
Its cares now flee away,
Let all things bow in reverence,
This holy seventh day.

O praise and pray on this,
The Sabbath Day.
The bells are sweetly ringing,
Their clear toned chimes do say:
"Ye people, come and worship
On this, the seventh day."

Come, all ye thankful people;
Why should our hearts delay
To greet the Lord of heaven
This Holy seventh day?
