I know thy works, that thou art neither
cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

Wake Thy Sleeping Church!

Lord, Thou hast gone two thousand years,
Yet scores refuse to hear
Tidings of Thy redeeming Truth,
Or read Thy Holy Word.
Sleeping and still Thy Church has lain,
Careless of thy high command!
To go to every tribe and tongue,
To every distant land.

Send us, O Lord, to speak for Thee,
Telling of Thy Truth and grace;
Send us, O Lord, to tell of Thee,
To every tribe and race.

So would we do for other lands
Lying in deepest sin,
Sinking to meet their awful doom
With every passing breath.
Hear, Savior, hear our fervent prayer!
Wake Thy sleeping Church to heed
Thy hour of favour and Thy Truth!
And bid her rise indeed!
