Text Based On Matthew Chapter 7
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
I’m Going Through
Lord, I have started to walk in Thy light
That shines on my pathway so clearly, and so bright;
I’ve bade this world and its follies an adieu,
And now with my Savior I mean to go through.
Refrain
I’m going through, I’m going through,
I’ll pay the price, whatever others do;
I’ll take the way with the Lord's despisèd few;
I’m going through, I’m going through.
Many once started to run in this race,
But with our Redeemer they could not keep the pace;
Others accepted because ’twas something new,
But not very many seem bound to go through.
Refrain
Let me but follow my Lord all alone,
And have for my pillow, like Jacob, a stone,
Rather than vain worldly pleasures to pursue,
Than turn from this pathway and fail to go through.
Refrain
Come then, my comrades, and walk in this way
That leads to the kingdom of unending day;
Turn from thy idols and join in with the few,
Start in with the Savior, and keep going through.
