Blessed are ye, when men shall revile
you, and persecute you, and shall say
all manner of evil against you falsely,
for my sake.

Rejoice and Be Glad!

Blessèd are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the Kingdom of heav’n;
Blessèd are the merciful,
For they shall be forgiven.

Rejoice and be exceeding glad,
For great is thy reward;
Rejoice, always be thankful,
For blessings from the Lord.

Blessèd are the meek in spirit,
For they shall inherit the earth;
Blessèd are the thirsty ones,
For God shall quench their thirst.

Blessèd are the ones oppressèd,
For theirs is the Kingdom of heav’n;
Blessèd are the ones who mourn,
For God shall comfort them.

Blessèd are the peaceful ones,
For they are the children of God;
Blessèd are the pure in heart,
